About the Work

I started Max's Woodwork in summer of 2025. Because my parents had recently moved, and I'd just returned from college, my room at home was bare, uninviting, and uninspiring. As a big believer that your environment dictates your mood and mentality, I decided to furnish my room with custom artworks. Eventually, I started selling them in Truckee, and now out of Reno, Truckee, and Boulder.

I build pieces that mix clean, modern design with the warmth and character of real wood. All pieces are 100% handmade by me, and are precisely planned and created. While I started with just one style and color, I'm constantly pushing the envelope and love sharing new methods.

Currently, I'm designing and making more topographic style pieces, this time using less natural colors like yellows and purples. Additionally, I'm experimenting with machined metal frames in various colors, more robust and aesthetically pleasing hanging methods, and new designs and styles.
